Balaton Sound is a three day music festival held on the shores of Lake Balaton. Held since 2007, it has developed into one of Europe’s largest open air electronic music festivals. For the 2012 festival Bjork and The Stone Roses have already been signed to appear. 94,000 people attended the festival in 2009.
The Sziget major music festival is held on Obudai island in the centre of Budapest. The 2011 event was voted “ Best European Major Festival”. In 2012 the festival will take place between 6th-13th August and acts include Caro Emerald, Friendly Fires, Korn, Noah & the Whale, Placebo, The Horrors, The Vaccines and Two Door Cinema Club.
At Sopron near the Austrian border the annual music festival is held – called Volt it is now in it’s 20th year. In 2012 the event will be held between 27th-30th June and confirmed acts include Skrillex. Snow Patrol and Iggy & the Stooges as well as Lostprophets, Children of Bodom, Hadouken and Katy B.
